With a rich history spanning over a century, Chamundesware Studio & Lab Pvt. Ltd. stands as a pioneer in the Indian film industry. Originally established in Tamil Nadu as Pakshiraja Studio Pvt. Ltd., the studio later moved to Bengaluru in 1969 and has since been a cornerstone of innovation in filmmaking. Over the decades, we have been instrumental in the production of numerous iconic films, including Kanchana, Ponni, Malaikallan, Sivakavi, Kalyaniyin Kanavan, Maragadham, Ezhai Padum Padu, Sabarimalai Ayyappan, Subhadra Kalyanam, and many more.

Our Legacy

Chamundesware Studio was founded by Sri K. Kuppuswamy, a visionary who learned the art and business of filmmaking from his maternal uncle, the legendary Sri S.M. Sriramulu Naidu. Under his leadership, the studio became a premier hub for film production, offering pre and post-production services to filmmakers across multiple languages. Notably, the studio produced the Swarna Kamal Award-winning film Sabarimalai Iyyappan (Tamil & Malayalam) and Subhadra Kalyana (Kannada), marking its place in cinematic history.

During the analog era, Chamundesware Studio was equipped with state-of-the-art imported machinery, including:

• Two Dubber Machines
• Two Recording Setups
• Two Dubbing Suites
• Four Projectors

Additionally, the studio was the exclusive processing lab for Indian Films Division documentaries from the Department of Information and Publicity.
